  • Sales managers for equipment and sale of gases (onsite gas production) markets.

  • Working with other UIG resources, sales managers play a key role in identifying and developing business opportunities, assessing potential supply options, developing detailed technical and commercial proposals and finalizing mutually beneficial contractual arrangements.

  • UIG sells equipment and complete plants to companies which would like to produce nitrogen, oxygen, or other products.

  • For companies which would prefer to purchase oxygen, nitrogen, and compressed dry air as a utility supply, UIG builds, owns and operates supply systems at customer sites to supply these products under long term supply contracts. 

  • Preferred sales manager candidates will have a background in technical sales and marketing, be familiar with the most common industrial gases (nitrogen, oxygen, argon) and with industries which routinely use these gases. They will enjoy identifying potential customers; and take pride in developing mutually beneficial proposals for gas supply and / or equipment supply.   

Project Management and Construction / Startup Support

 

 

 
  • Experienced project managers, project engineers, systems engineers, and construction / startup support personnel. 

  • Project managers and engineers participate throughout the entire project life cycle from concept/ proposal development through detail design, procurement, construction, commissioning and customer acceptance. They also assist with plant performance assessments, trouble-shooting and optimization.

  • Construction and startup support personnel manage an array of field activities during construction, commissioning, and startup of sale-of-equipment and turnkey air separation plant construction projects, including plants to be owned and operated by UCG. 

  • Candidates must have significant industrial gases industry experience and the ability to communicate effectively, recognize critical path activities and prioritize accordingly; and to work cooperatively with customers, suppliers, internal resources and other support services personnel.

Project Technicians and Administrative Support

 

  • Project technicians and administrative support personnel work with,and assist, home office project management personnel during all phases of project development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up.

  • These positions do not require a technical degree; but do require good communication skills, the ability to pay close attention to critical details, the ability to organize data and to prioritize multiple tasks. Candidates should be familiar with Word and Excel, and, above all, have a proactive and responsible team approach to problem solving and achieving goals. 

  • Project support activities will typically include a mix of routine administrative, record keeping, expediting, and coordination activities, some of which can, at times, be time sensitive, high-priority activities. Examples include assisting with preparation of procurement documents, monitoring and expediting procurement activities, and assisting with project accounting and scheduling functions.

  • Responsibilities can be tailored to individual skills and experience. Candidates with significant experience in a similar role in the industrial gases industry, a closely-related chemical process industry, engineering or data management organization are of particular interest.

Industrial Gas Plant Specialty Engineering and Design

  • Industrial gas plant design involves a number of specialty engineering activities associated with process design, and design of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation and control systems. 

  •  Both in-house and contract personnel are utilized to design oxygen, nitrogen and air separation plants and liquefiers, and to define the work required to relocate, modify and upgrade used plants.

  • Specialty design personnel participate in the development of  process and instrumentation diagrams and detailed specifications for plant components such as vessels, piping, instrumentation, control and electrical systems, machinery, structures and foundations. 

  • Job functions include participation in preparing procurement documentation and bid evaluations, order placement, vendor / contractor auditing and expediting activities, plant performance assessments and trouble-shooting. 

Industrial Gas Plant Operations Management / Support       

 

  • Experienced operations and maintenance personnel provide Home Office plant management support services and direct technical, operational, maintenance and procurement support to local operations personnel at UCG onsite gas and liquid industrial gas production facilities; as well as to individual clients who request assistance with analyzing, maintaining, upgrading and operating their own plants.
  •  Responsibilities will include participation in plant design teams, training of local operations and maintenance personnel, and participation in commissioning and startup activities. 
  • Preferred candidates will have significant industrial gas industry experience in operating process plants, good communication skills, and a proactive and responsible team approach to solving problems when they arise.
